What you pay for a dental bridge comes down to three things: how many teeth the bridge replaces, the material it is made from, and how much work the teeth on each side of the gap need first. Your insurance and the payment option you choose change the final amount too. Because no two mouths are the same, the only fair way to give you a number is to look at your teeth first. At Pure Santa Ana Dentist, the team reviews your fee with you before any treatment starts.
How a bridge replaces a missing tooth
A dental bridge fills a gap with a false tooth that is held in place by crowns on the teeth next to it. The whole piece is cemented in, so you do not take it out to eat, sleep or clean it the way you would a removable denture.
A missing tooth is more than a gap in your smile. Over time the teeth around it can drift into the space, your bite can change, and chewing on that side can get harder. A bridge holds the space and gives you a tooth to chew with again.
What changes the price
Every bridge is planned for one mouth, so the fee moves with the details of your case:
- How many teeth are missing. A bridge that replaces one tooth is a smaller job than one that spans two or three missing teeth in a row.
- The material. Bridges come in more than one material. Your dentist will tell you which one suits where the gap is, how you bite, and how you want it to look.
- The teeth that hold it. The teeth on each side of the gap are shaped to carry the crowns. If one of them has a large old filling, decay or a crack, it may need care first.
- Your gums. Healthy gums give a bridge a good base. Gum problems are usually treated before the bridge is made.
- The number of visits. Your treatment plan sets how many appointments you need from start to finish.
The office uses digital x-rays and digital scans to look at the supporting teeth closely, so your plan and your fee are based on what your teeth actually need.
Does insurance pay for a bridge?
Pure Santa Ana Dentist works with PPO, Indemnity, Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, Smile California and CalOptima dental plans. What a plan pays toward a bridge depends on that plan’s own rules, waiting periods and yearly limits, so nobody can promise an amount before checking.
If you have Medi-Cal or Denti-Cal: Medi-Cal rarely pays for a bridge. In most cases it covers a partial denture to replace missing teeth instead, and it covers crowns when a tooth needs one to be fixed. Your dentist can explain both options and what Medi-Cal will cover for your mouth before you decide.
The office offers a free insurance eligibility check before your visit, so you can see what your plan covers ahead of time instead of guessing.
Ways to pay
If your plan pays only part of the cost, or you have no dental insurance, the office offers payment plans, other affordable payment options and 0% financing. Ask during your visit which option fits your budget. Many patients find that a monthly amount they can keep up with matters as much as the total.
Your first visit
Your first visit starts with an exam of the gap, the teeth beside it and your gums. Digital x-rays show what is happening below the gumline. Your dentist then explains whether a bridge is a good fit, which other options you have, how long treatment takes, and what your plan costs. You will know the fee before you agree to anything.
You can book a visit online at any time, or call (714) 705-6852, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Our team speaks Spanish. Información en español.
Do not wait too long
A gap is easier to fix before nearby teeth start to shift. Call sooner if a tooth next to the gap hurts, if an old bridge feels loose, or if a tooth has broken. The office offers same-day appointments for dental emergencies when possible.
Questions patients ask
Why is there no single price for a bridge?
Each bridge is made for one mouth. The number of missing teeth, the material and the state of the teeth that hold it all change the work involved, and so the fee.
Will Medi-Cal pay for my bridge?
Usually not. Medi-Cal rarely covers bridges and usually covers a partial denture instead. Your dentist will explain what is covered for you.
Can I know my cost before treatment starts?
Yes. Your dentist and the team go over the fee for your plan at your visit, before any treatment begins.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. The office offers payment plans, affordable payment options and 0% financing.
