The price of Invisalign depends mostly on how far your teeth need to move and how long that takes. A small gap is a short, simple plan. Crowding or a bite problem takes more aligners and more check-ins. That is why the best way to learn your cost is a free Invisalign consultation at our Santa Ana office, where you get the fee for your own teeth, not an average.
Below is what changes the price, what insurance and Medi-Cal usually cover, and what to ask before you compare quotes.
How Invisalign straightens teeth
Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made trays instead of metal brackets and wires. Each tray moves your teeth a little, and you switch to the next one on a schedule your dentist sets. You take the trays out to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss, which makes daily cleaning easier than with braces.
What changes the price
- How much your teeth need to move. Spacing or mild crowding usually needs fewer trays than a crossbite or heavy crowding.
- How long treatment lasts. More months means more trays and more check-in visits.
- Scans and planning. Your plan is built from digital images and an iTero 3D scan of your teeth, not messy molds. Ask whether the scan is part of the quote.
- Changes along the way. Teeth do not always move exactly as planned. Ask how extra trays or changes are handled.
- Retainers. When your teeth reach their new places, a retainer helps keep them there. Ask whether it is included.
- Teen or adult. Invisalign Teen is made for younger patients who are still growing. Your dentist will explain which version fits.
Two people on the same street can get very different quotes for good reasons. The details of the bite are what count.
Before you compare quotes
Some advertised prices leave things out. When you compare two offices, ask each one:
- Is the exam included?
- Are the 3D scan and digital records included?
- Are check-in visits and any extra trays included?
- Is a retainer included at the end?
- How are payments spread out, and what happens if the plan changes?
A written breakdown from your consultation makes a fair comparison much easier.
Does insurance or Medi-Cal pay for Invisalign?
Pure Santa Ana Dentist works with PPO, Indemnity, Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, Smile California and CalOptima dental plans. Orthodontic coverage is different in every plan, and many PPO plans have a separate lifetime limit for it. The office offers a free insurance eligibility check before your visit so you can see what your plan says.
If you have Medi-Cal or Denti-Cal: Medi-Cal pays for orthodontic treatment only for children and teens under 21 who have a serious bite problem, measured on the state’s scoring sheet. It does not cover Invisalign or braces for adults 21 and older. If your child may qualify, your dentist can check and explain the next steps.
Ways to pay
If your plan does not cover orthodontics, or covers only part, the office offers payment plans, other affordable payment options and 0% financing. Pick a monthly amount you can keep up with for the whole treatment; that often matters more than the total.
Who will care for you
Pure Santa Ana Dentist is a family-run office at 1125 17th St, Suite E227, in Santa Ana. Dr. Khaef is Clear Aligner certified with both Invisalign and ClearCorrect. Becky Martinez, our Clear Aligner Specialist, takes the iTero scans, and Joel Galindo, our Treatment Coordinator, helps you with scheduling, insurance and payment. Our team speaks Spanish.
At your first visit you get an exam and a 3D scan. Your dentist then shows you a digital preview of how your teeth are planned to move, so you see the result before any aligners are made.
When to see a dentist about crooked teeth
Book a visit if your teeth are crowded or have gaps, if your bite feels uneven, if chewing hurts, or if your teeth have shifted over the years. Some cases are better treated another way, and your dentist will tell you honestly whether clear aligners make sense for you.
For a toothache, a broken tooth or another urgent problem, call the office. Same-day appointments are offered during office hours when possible.

Questions patients ask
Is the Invisalign consultation really free?
Yes. The consultation at our Santa Ana office is free. It is the right time to ask about your fee, your timeline and how to pay.
Why can’t you give one price for Invisalign?
The fee depends on how far your teeth move, how long that takes, and the scans and visits your case needs. Your dentist has to see your bite to know.
Does Medi-Cal cover Invisalign?
Only for children and teens under 21 with a serious bite problem. Medi-Cal does not cover Invisalign or braces for adults.
What if I cannot pay all at once?
The office offers payment plans, affordable payment options and 0% financing. Ask which one fits your budget at your consultation.
